During laser eye surgery, the cornea of your eye is gently reshaped using state-of-the-art laser technology so that light rays are once again precisely focused on the retina. With the Femto-LASIK method, an ultra-thin flap is created in the upper layer of the cornea using a femtosecond laser and gently lifted so that the underlying tissue can be reshaped with an excimer laser. With SMILE Pro, the correction is performed through a minimal side incision, through which a tiny disc of corneal tissue—called a lenticule—is removed.
