Trifocal lenses are highly advanced multifocal lenses that are implanted directly into the eye as intraocular lenses. Unlike conventional lenses, they have three focal points, allowing clear vision at distance, intermediate range and near. By implanting this special artificial lens during a short lens procedure, you can regain full independence from glasses.
Whether driving, working on a computer, looking at your smartphone or reading – the image is precisely focused on the retina at every distance. The lenses are implanted as part of a safe procedure, after which you can usually see clearly again in almost all areas of everyday life without restrictions.
Whether laser eye surgery or trifocal lenses are more suitable for you depends on individual factors. From around the age of 45, lens replacement is often the better option, as it permanently corrects presbyopia and prevents further progression of the refractive error.
Trifocal lenses are most commonly used to correct presbyopia, which usually begins around the age of 45. In selected cases, however, the treatment may also be suitable for correcting severe non-age-related refractive errors and is generally possible once you are an adult.

At EuroEyes, trifocal lenses cost CHF 4,480 per eye. This fixed price includes all pre-examinations, the main examination and follow-up appointments. Payment can be made in full or conveniently in instalments. Costs only arise once you decide to proceed with the treatment.
Vision usually improves significantly within 24 hours, and you can generally return to your normal daily activities. However, it may take a few weeks until full visual quality stabilises. In the beginning, give your eyes sufficient rest and avoid heavy physical exertion.
