My experience was very good. The doctors and staff are very competent and friendly. I had my ICL procedure here yesterday, and today I can already see very well. The first day after the procedure was a bit challenging, as my eyes still had to get used to it.

The doctor as well as the entire team are very friendly and answer questions in a professional and competent way.

About a month ago, I decided to undergo RLA, and I am very satisfied. From the very first examination, I felt that I was advised in a very competent and pleasant manner. The procedure also went exactly as planned, and I felt well taken care of throughout. I am very happy with the result as well. Many thanks to the entire team.

I had my eyes operated on by Dr. Toam Katz and couldn’t be happier with the result. From the very first consultation, he inspired great confidence and explained every detail of the procedure clearly and patiently. The surgery was quick and painless, and the follow-up care was excellent. Today, I enjoy perfect vision thanks to his professionalism and dedication. I can definitely recommend it.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the difference between ReLEx SMILE and SMILE Pro?

SMILE Pro is the advanced evolution of the proven ReLEx SMILE procedure. The use of the latest ZEISS VisuMax 800 laser significantly reduces treatment time and provides even greater safety. In both methods, a tiny corneal disc (lenticule) is formed inside the cornea and removed to gently correct refractive errors.

  • What distinguishes SMILE Pro compared to other methods?

Unlike Femto-LASIK, SMILE Pro does not require creating and lifting a “flap” (corneal flap) to expose and correct the underlying tissue. Instead, only a tiny side access of about two to three millimetres is needed to remove corneal tissue. This makes the method particularly gentle, preserves the stability of the cornea and is ideal for patients with dry eyes or for people with an active lifestyle.

  • What are possible side effects of the SMILE Pro method?

SMILE Pro is considered very low-risk. Immediately after the procedure, normal temporary effects such as a mild foreign body sensation, tearing or light sensitivity may occur. These symptoms usually subside within a few hours as your vision stabilises.

  • How long does SMILE Pro last?

The correction of your refractive error with SMILE Pro is permanent because the corneal tissue is permanently reshaped. However, the procedure does not prevent the natural development of presbyopia from around the age of 45. This can later be corrected with multifocal lenses or PRESBYOND.

  • When can I expect full vision?

Most patients notice a significant improvement the day after the procedure and achieve around 80% of their visual acuity. Once we have issued the certificate required for the road traffic office, you can usually resume driving. Full, stable vision is typically reached within 3 to 4 days.

  • When is SMILE Pro not suitable?

SMILE Pro is not suitable for people with farsightedness or presbyopia. In such cases, Femto-LASIK, multifocal lenses or PRESBYOND are excellent alternatives. Your exact suitability will be determined during a personal pre-examination.

  • What should I consider after SMILE Pro treatment?

Proper aftercare is essential for the best possible result. This includes using your prescribed eye drops regularly and attending follow-up appointments. We accompany you throughout the entire healing process and provide you with all important guidelines for the first days after treatment.

  • How much does SMILE Pro treatment cost?

At EuroEyes, SMILE Pro treatment costs CHF 2,590 per eye. This fixed price already includes all follow-up appointments. To make your path to a life without glasses easier, we also offer flexible instalment plans for up to 36 months.

  • At which locations does EuroEyes offer SMILE Pro?

SMILE Pro is available in Zurich, Lugano, Lausanne and Geneva. If you have any questions or would like further information, we are always happy to assist you.
